Notes by nationality

One visa covers the Schengen states. You apply at the embassy of your main destination. The strength of file required varies by nationality, Saudi and Gulf passport holders generally face lighter requirements, while some nationalities must show stronger financial evidence and ties.

Documents required

• Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date, with two blank pages
• Completed and signed application form
• Two recent photographs on a white background (35×45 mm)
• Bank statements for the last 3, 6 months
• Employer letter stating your position, salary and approved leave
• Return flight reservation (usually unpaid)
• Hotel booking covering the full stay
• Travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 cover
• Copy of a valid national ID or iqama
• A day-by-day travel itinerary

Expected processing time

Typically up to 15 working days from submission, longer in peak seasons. We recommend applying at least a month before travel.

Photo requirements

Two recent 35×45 mm photos on a white background, full face visible, no sunglasses. Men: no shemagh or headwear. Women: hijab is fine with the full face clearly visible.
